The Chair of the Board of the Korean-American Educational Commission is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Chong Woo (Bret) Kim as its new Executive Director, overseeing the full range of Fulbright programs between the United States and the Republic of Korea. On August 1, Mr. Kim will formally assume the authority of Executive Director as he succeeds Dr. Byungok Kwon, who has retired following six years as Executive Director of the Commission.
Mr. Kim has had a long career in the private sector, including holding senior leadership positions in the management consulting, finance, entertainment and technology sectors. Throughout his career, Mr. Kim has had extensive experience not only in the United States and Korea, but throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The Commission is pleased to have Mr. Kim as its new Executive Director and extends a warm welcome to him in this 75th anniversary year of the Korean-American Educational Commission as he continues the important work of the Commission in advancing U.S.-Korean people-to-people relations.
