Please select two cities to improve your chances of being matched with Friends: one nearest to your residence and another within a reasonable distance that you could visit. In general, the larger the city, the higher your chances of being matched.”

Matching Consent Form

I will interact with my matched Fulbright Friend(s) with understanding, respect, and consideration for differences. 매칭된 Fulbright Friends와 교류 시, 서로 다름에 대해 이해하며 상대방을 존중하고 배려하겠습니다.
As Fulbrighters representing Korea and the United States, I will engage in the program with a sense of responsibility. 한국과 미국을 대표하는 Fulbrighters로서 책임감을 가지고 교류하겠습니다.
After engaging with my Fulbright Friend, a brief report on the exchange must be submitted. Fulbright Friend와 교류 후, 간단한 교류 내용을 제출하겠습니다.
Matches may be made irrespective of demographic information provided (e.g., home/host institution, age, gender, dependent information) Fulbright Friends의 소속, 나이, 성별, 동반가족 정보와 상관없이 매칭될 수 있습니다.
If there are no Fulbright Friends in my chosen area, a match may not be possible 선택한 지역에 Fulbright Friends가 없는 경우, 매칭되지 않을 수도 있습니다.
It may take some time from submission of the application until a match is made. 신청서가 제출된 후, 매칭되기까지 시간이 소요될 수 있습니다.
Matches may be arranged on a one-to-one or one-to-many basis depending on availability. 일대일 또는 일대다로 매칭될 수 있습니다.
Once matched, Fulbright Friend program participation will continue until the U.S. grantee's award period ends. 매칭된 경우, 미국인 장학생의 수혜 기간이 종료될 때까지 Fulbright Friends 관계가 유지됨을 이해합니다.

Activity Support Guidelines

Participants in the Fulbright Friends Program may receive KRW 30,000 per person for each in-person gathering as activity support. Fulbright Friends 프로그램 참여자는 대면 모임 1회당 인당 30,000원의 활동비를 사후 지원받을 수 있습니다.
A maximum of three activity support payments may be provided during the grant period of a U.S. Fulbright grantee. Fulbright Friend(s)로 매칭된 미국인 장학생의 수혜 기간 중 최대 3회의 활동비가 지원됩니다.
The activity support application must be submitted at least six weeks before the U.S. grantee’s grant end date. 미국인 장학생의 수혜 종료일 기준 최소 6주 전까지 활동비 신청이 완료돼야 합니다.
You may submit applications for multiple gatherings with the same Korean Friend(s) at once. 동일한 미국인 Friend(s)와의 여러 모임에 대한 활동비를 한 번에 신청할 수 있습니다.
Each participant, American or Korean, must submit their own application. One person cannot apply for the entire group. 같은 팀이라 하더라도, 한 사람이 팀 전체 활동비를 대신 수령할 수 없으며, 미국인 또는 한국인 참여자 각자가 반드시 개별 신청해야 합니다.
Activity support payments are processed irregularly, and it may take more than three months from the time of application for the payment to be issued. 활동비 지급은 비정기적으로 진행되며, 신청 후 지급까지 3개월 이상이 소요될 수도 있습니다.
The activity support can only be paid to a Korean bank account under the applicant’s own name. 활동비는 신청자 본인 명의의 계좌로만 지급이 가능합니다.
