Applications are invited from Korean and U.S. citizens for the position of Executive Director of the Korean-American Educational Commission (KAEC), which is responsible for administering the Fulbright Program in the Republic of Korea.

Since 1946, over 370,000 people have been awarded prestigious Fulbright Scholarships, which are now offered in over 150 countries. KAEC, headquartered in Seoul, operates under a bi-national agreement to further educational and cultural exchange between Korea and the United States. With nearly 300 scholarships provided each year, the Korean Fulbright Program is one of the largest in the world.

KAEC seeks an Executive Director to work closely with the ten-member Board of Directors to provide senior level strategic and managerial leadership. The successful candidate will also need a thorough knowledge and understanding of Korean and American societies, including educational systems; managerial experience in an academic, philanthropic, or cultural exchange organization; strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in both Korean and English; and a proven ability to lead and direct multicultural teams.

Working under the direction the Board and administering an annual budget of over $7 million, primarily from the U.S. and Korean governments, the Executive Director supervises a staff of approximately 14 in managing the Fulbright Program and Koreans and American coming to Korea, and educational information service, and relations with Fulbright alumni and the private sector.

The successful candidate will be offered a renewable two-year contract at a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. A successful U.S. citizen applicant will qualify for visa sponsorship by KAEC.

Candidates must be available to assume the position by September 1, 2018.
